Hi all,

I've decided to let my beloved Horseman 980 go to a new home. This camera has treated me very well for quite some time. I recently (about 4 months back I believe) had the whole camera overhauled by Nippon Photo Clinic in NY. These guys are the premier Horseman experts and they did a phenomenal job with bringing the camera back to new condition. The camera was thoroughly CLA'd and any parts that showed wear were replaced with new parts. They also machined and replaced the gears in the track assembly to make focusing even smoother then it ever had been. I overhauled the camera thinking that I'd be using it as much as I had in the past but recently I've acquired a few cameras that are suiting me and the work I'm doing better so I need to let this one go. Cosmetically the camera is a 9 showing just slight signs of its age. Mechanically the camera is 10+ and probably functions better now then when it was new. The rangefinder is spot on and was also precision calibrated when they did the CLA. Even the roll film back was completely rebuilt and functions flawlessly.

The kit comes with:
1. Horseman 980 technical camera body
2. Kogaku Super Horseman 150mm f5.6
3. Kogaku Super Horseman 90mm f5.6
4. Original rangefinder cams for both lenses which have been checked to be perfect matches to the lenses
5. Original Horseman Graflok style detachable ground glass back with pop up hood
6. Overhauled Horseman 6x9 roll film back
7. Horseman Polaroid back including matching ground glass elevator and spacer for rangefinder focusing (takes Fuji FP 100C, 100B, and 3000B films)

Asking $1100 + free shipping anywhere in the continental USA via insured UPS Ground.

Got some nibbles but no bite just yet. I'm glad to see that those who've PMed me find the price acceptable if not generous. The value of the kit is definitely more then my asking price but I figure the price should make it a little more accessible to some who might not otherwise be able to swing it. Also, to answer a question, I do not plan on piecing this kit out.

Holiday Bump!

Lots of replies but no bite yet. I don't want to list on the auction site so in the holiday spirit I'm dropping the price to $850! This will cover my costs on the camera so I'm ok with that. First taker at the new price takes the lot!

Haha I hope so! Its a great deal! Its too good of a camera to just leave on the shelf and I'd still be using it had I not gone in a different direction with my work. I anticipated using it for a long while to come which is why I put the money into overhauling it. Realistically the price I've dropped it to is a steal especially considering that it is now effectively in brand new condition mechanically and comes with the seriously hard to find Polaroid kit (which I used more then the roll film back) which allows you to use the Polaroid back like normal or handheld coupled with the rangefinder. It preformes flawlessly with the rollfilm back as you would probably use it most often but having the ability to carry this thing around handheld and make instant images is just fantastic. Its ridiculaously versitle and I'll probably regret selling it at some point in the future but tis life and the cash will go further in funding my materials and work right now. I hope someone will give it a good home

I can't believe this hasn't sold yet! Ok, final bump. $750 + $20 shipping UPS Ground with insurance and tracking. If I end up putting it on ebay it'll have a higher reserve then this or I might just keep it if no one takes me up on the offer.

To clarify based on some questions I'm getting, the Horseman 980 is a medium format 6x9 technical view camera that makes images on 120 roll film and Fuji instant films using the included accessory back. It is smaller and more portable then the 4x5 equivalent and can be used handheld. This is both a view camera and a medium format rangefinder in one camera!
