For Sale For Sale... Ebony 45S

I put this little sweetheart up for sale back in november and hurt a couple of guys feelings by balking when it came to let it go.... I love it but am spending more time in 8x10 with an equally great Deardorff.
So here it is ..... great shape, mint minus...everything clean and lubricated... works perfectly. I am including the rather pricey ($250) bellows style focusing hood as shown plus one ebony copal 1 lens board.
The cost is $2450 which includes paypal fees and shipping in north america. And no, I don't want to offer it for $2000 so please don''t ask. Comes in original box.This is a work of art..... one of the finest large
format cameras built to the highest standards.... www.ebonycamera.com has all the techno info but basically a non-folding wide angle camera. Lenses from 47mm to 240mm work great.
This sale does not include the lens or tripod or tripod head. Camera sells new for $3400.
Thanks for looking and let me know who wants it. I will regret this move but the deardorff beckons and a different vision.

I'm very interested in your camera. I've been looking for a 45s for a while. Is that the 90mm f/4.5? (if it is) I know it's not included in the price, but how do you feel about it - It's the exact lens i'm planning on getting. I've been talking to another photographer with a 45s for sale. Is there any room in the price or is it an absolute at 2450? let me know shaffer [at] ku [dot] edu

The lens is the nikkor 90mm f8 and with a 235mm circle it is perfect.... very sharp. Check out Kerry Thalman and his modern classics... The 4.5 lens is great but really large and I think the same
235mm circle. Well Travis.... the focusing hood is a $200+ touch and the lens board is $69.95.... and around $40 or $50 for the spare ground glass. I don't really want to sell it unless I get the fair price. You can tell I still have an attachment to this camera. Let me know, Richard.

I know the lens isn't part of the deal - just wondering how you felt about the nikkor 90. So you would suggest buying the 8 over the 4.5? What about focusing? Is the 8 rather bright?


I can imagine your attachment to the camera, I've been coveting one for some time. I'll get back to you shortly with an offer. (waiting on some $$ from selling some gear and prints).

The 90mm f8 is much smaller and lighter than the f4.5.... but the brightness depends upon the screen of your camera. And the Ebony is very bright.
