I am listing 5 reducing backs that will fit the 8x10 Rembrandt, 8x10 B&J field camera and the 8x10 Grover monorail. All three cameras were made by Burke & James of Chicago, Ill.. Basically they are variations of the 8x10 B&J, the Rembrandt having a fixed front standard and the Grover mounted on a monorail. The only thing that hasn't changed is the battleship gray paint
In the last three photos, you can see the company name inscribed on various camera parts. Some of the backs have a felt lining where the back makes contact withe the camera body. On the one marked 'Grover', parts of the felt ribbon need to be reglued.
I have indicated the prices next to the respective back.
Shipping is extra, from Canada. Payment to be made through Paypal. 2% goes to APUG. 10% off the price if you buy more than one item.
8x10>5x7 removable, The 5x7 part can be removed from the 8x10 back, $50
8x10>5x7 sliding back that splits into two 3½x5 images, $50
8x10>4x5, $40
8x10>4x5 sliding back that splits into two 2½x4" images, $40
8x10>2¼x3¼", $40
The dimensions of the boards and the placement of the retaining pins is as follows:
The outer dimensions of the reducing backs is 11½" sq (293mm) ; distance between the pins, 260mm; from pin center to pin center, 263mm.
It is quite possible that these boards will fit other 8x10 cameras made by other companies.
Just a reminder that these boards were made by Burke & James for their 8x10 cameras, the 810 Rembrandt Studio, 810 B&J field, and 810 Grover monorail.
If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you.
