Just an FYI on some defective film stock: http://www.dr5.com/blackandwhiteslide/fomar.html

This issue has popped up it's ugly head again, from 2 years ago. The manufacture and Us importer has yet to acknowledge the problem. We were sent some test rolls from a distributor in Canada, asking us to test their stock because of some complaints they they had received [we did not run the film].

Best regards, dr5

If you ever worked in engineering, you will likely have encountered the kind of issue that pops up once in a while, then disappears, then rears its ugly head again. Never will it show up during testing, and various measures taken to solve the issue will only bring temporary relief. BTDT. It's ugly.

Instead of accusing Foma of trying to defraud their customers, we should focus on the real issue: complete lack of customer support and communication. They have no forum presence to speak of. They have a web page dedicated to Fomapan 100r, but their news archive is empty! WTF ...

We already had a thread on this opened by you, dr5 representative, where you already informed of the last issue, and it's still active:

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Opening a new thread for the same topic could make some forumers think there is some anti-Foma agenda going on.
I don't think this is the aim of dr5, though, since they have praised the results obtained with Foma R100. Thus, being a bit careful with the topics will keep the reputation of dr5 clean, bright, sharp, and with a low fog level, just like their slides.

Floaio81 - This spotting issue is the same problem from a few years ago, only it is different emulsion. We bring it up again because freestyle is telling customers the film-problem has been fixed and the current film they are selling is good.

This new announcement is for the newest emulsion-stock all north America sellers of the film are selling. "THIS IS NOT" and anti-foma post - to be clear! It is insulting to insinuate such a thing. Since we [dr5] are the only lab able to run this particular film, we have to make clear to our client base and future clients that 'it is not' the processing causing the problem. If I read your post properly, yes, in-deed, we are a quality 1st shop always. If there is a problem with a film we run, be it us or the film it-self, we always notify clients out of common courtesy. To date, no seller of this film [except Argentix] in N.America and Europe and the manufacture, has yet to return our inquire on this defective film.
