I am going to develop my first 35mm roll of Fomapan 200 (which I understand is also re-branded as Paterson Acupan 200) in Aculux2. I have rated it at EI 125. Does anyone have any experience or times?

Looking on the web and at the manufactures notes I am getting conflicting times for tank development. Paterson itself says 6 to 7.5 minutes and Foma themselves say 8 to 9 minutes - all depending on contrast and / or type of enlarger head.

Any help much appreciated.

Well, I don't know about the Paterson deveoper, but I've had very good luck developing this film in Rodinal 1:50 for 8-10 minutes. Since you shot at 125 ISO
I would use 8 minutes. THis is great film with ability to hold highlight detail even in areas 2 stops overexposed. Good luck and let us know the results.

Thanks for the input Rusty.

I went ahead and tried the Fomapan 200 (EI125) in Aculux2 for 6 minutes and I am very happy with the results. The film is very good with nice tonality and I am delighted to say it does not have any of those terrible scratches on it that the Fomapan 400 had. Contrast is fairly well controlled even on shots I took yesterday on the beach in Dorset in full bright mid-day sun. Shadow detail is reasonable but may want to test EI 100 next time. Detail on the film is good - I shot it with my Ricoh GR1v using centre weighted metering.

I am certainly going to try this film some more given the good results and I will try Rodinal with it as well.

In case anyone is interested I attach a pdf I picked up from the Foma site giving info for their films in other companies developers. But beware as they recommend 9 to 10 minutes for Fomapan 200 in Aculux2 and that seems to me to be far too long given my recent experience.
