Hi all;

Recently got a Mamiya C330 Pro S TLR, bought five rolls of Fomapan 120 100asa b/w film. As I haven't shot a medium format camera in about 25yrs I loaded up the C330 with my first fresh roll of Fomapan 120 100asa film etc...

So when loading the 120 Fomapan film via the C330 camera rear it shows the word 'start' on the film paper and no arrows it seems, so where it showed the word 'start' I then lined that up with the marks on the C330 whilst loading the film, is this right I wonder ?, or should I have wound on the take up spool more..?
Are there any arrows to line up or is the word start where you line up the film to etc ?

Any advice most welcome, thanks.

Regards;
Peter

I actually just picked up some Fomapan, so I thought I would load it into my C330s to see. I agree - it is very confusing not having arrows, but it seems to me that you aligned things properly. I guess we will both find out...

wOw quick and informative replies, thank you all......greatly appreciate the advice...!

So is it a rule of thumb that mostly all 120 film (colour or b/w) there's arrows on the film to align etc....? I've been away from good old 120 film format too long.

regards;

The answer would/should be "yes" After you close the back and wind-on you'll prossibly feel the extra bit of resistance as the lump of film, sticky tape and backing paper slip under the edge of the pressure plate.

This is the backing paper of Foma 120 film that I have recently developed. There are arrows after the start.
