fomapan 100 and Efke kb50 in Clayton f76 plus

I do not see any times for those in the massive developer chart, would greatly appreciate if someone can share their data about EI and dev times
 
maybe I am blind, but I do not see any suggestions for F76+ or EI for that developer, films are in the database, but that does not help me with the new developer I am trying to use.
 
Unless I am misreading Freestyle's website, it would be reasonable to use D76 times as a starting point.

Why do you think F76 and D76 are equivalent developers?

Not in my experience. And I don't use F76 ever anymore (one gallon was enough).

Not trying to make any such claim. Just looking at this page and putting myself in the original poster's shoes. If no development times are published for the films, and Freestyle seems to be marketing F76+ as something like a D76 substitute, then that's where I would start, at least on a clip test. Yes it might be way off, but you have to start somewhere; it's not a crazy guess.

for apx 100 and tri-x times are not the same, even when you use stock d-76, and they are way off when d-76 is 1:1
 
*shrug* Oh well. You might just have to be a pioneer; experiment till you get good working times and then post them for the benefit of others.
 
I am aware of that statement, it only states that developer is comparable to d-76 in tonal range and grain structure, you could claim the same for Xtol, yet they are different animals. Even looking at the dilution of 1 to 9 for F76+ you should see that taking times from d-76 is not a good idea. F76 is not a copy D-76 with another name, it is something new I wanted to try.
 
Let's not get into a pissin' match but they are not the same developer, resemblance being the "76" label. I tried it, it wasn't the same, it wasn't as good (much lower contrast to D76 1:1) and I abandoned it. Not to say others can't make it work for their work, but not my cuppa tea.

I would advise all youngstas, no matter what age, do serious work with D76 to get an understanding of what B&W developing can do. That said, I don't use it anymore, I use Rodinal, W2D2+, and Pyrocat as my standard developers (Diafine and 777 when I want to get fancy). Why? It doesn't do it for my vision. And that's the bottom line.

yeh, thanks for you insights, I was really delighted to learn that all you can offer is for me to run the test til I get it right, if you have nothing to contribute why BS?
