Hello
I am new to this Forum and seeking any info.
I have been a long user of Fomabrom Variant III and very pleased with my results. (Dektol 5:1 for five minutes at approx. 20°, citric acid stop and either Ilford or Fomafix. I have just purchased a new batch of paper direct from Foma and notice a distinct change from previous prints - loss of subtle high lights - prints seem dull or flat. I have not changed my work flow. Enquiry on another site suggested it may be a change to the manufactures coating of the paper. I will contact Foma to ask, but curious if anyone has noticed this issue, or if anyone can suggest what I may be doing to affect this change.

Many thanks
Peter

Rather than asking the same question again, did you do what was suggested in your thread at the large format forum - ie use the normal dilution of Dektol for 2-3 minutes and check to see if you have been sent 112 rather than 111? If there has been a supercoating change, that may affect the diffusion rate of developer into the emulsion layer, which may slow down the development rate of overly diluted developers even further.

Lachlan - not yet. I was asking as many opinions as possible, before I start looking for a remedy and or bothering people at Foma. But I will indeed, do as you suggest.

Thank you for your input

If you think it really is a technical problem, you should always contact Foma first - they'll want to know.
