It looks like Foma just released a new photographic paper: Retrobrom. Or at least it is new to me. Except for some sample images that float the internets, I do not know anything about it except that it can be used for lith printing.

Once I found out about it, I ordered a box. Looking forward to receiving it.

Foma Retrobrom Sp is indeed a complete new BW silver-halide paper. The distributors have been informed - including data sheet - recently.
Retrobrom Sp is a
- fibre base paper
- with a warm tone
- fixed grade: special (2)
- medium speed.

Best regards,
Henning

It will be announced on their website this week, officials from Foma informed me via email.
It is fresh news so all is going on swiftly.
The good news is that it might be suitable for contact printing, so who knows... Fomalux descendant,,,,?
Practice will show.

I wonder if it's got links back to some of Neobrom's emulsion formulae - and/ or something along the lines of an Ektalure or Kentona type of paper re-engineered to avoid some of the more environmentally nasty components.

Foma makes awesome paper. I've been very impressed with their products. Fomatone is amazing paper. I will be watching for this. Hey Foma, Good Job!

Even better if it could lith!

Well, FOMA posted on their site the technical sheet and here is what is written about lith: "For reaching noticeable tonal and colour changes of the image is possible to use special types of so called lith developers - Moersch Easy Lith, Fotospeed LD 20 Lith, Rollei Vintage Creative Lith, etc.".

I might try one day...

Curious to see some prints, any source apart from what foma had put online?
