foma 400 in d76 vs trix in d76

Anyone has used Fomapan (or arista edu ultra) 400 in d76? can you actually get the 400 or 320 speed with d76 or d76(1+1). how does it look with the combination, compare to trix in d76.

No you can not. But you can see that on their own Fomapan 400 datasheet:

Even with Microphen it's difficult to reach the full E.I. of iso 400.

Thanks. So with D76 stock it can only get 250. if I dilute the soup to 1+1, will that cause any speed loss? (i think someone told me before about effect of dilution on speed, I forgot.....).

I don't understand in the same document , forma says it has a normal speed of 420, then it says it can only reach 320. Why is that??? Or I am not understand it correctly.

More precisely: Just over iso 200.
Dilution will have most effect on sharpness and grain.

They say it's iso 400/DIN27. But indeed as you can see, even with their own reference developer LQN it will reach hardly iso 320. So Fomapan action 320 would be a better name but less interesting for marketing.
APX400 has the same characteristics, also more an iso 320 film than 400. If you like the Agfa film you will be also pleased with this Fomapan 400 film.

FWIW, I once followed this procedure and found that Fomapan's speed in PC-Glycol (1+1+48 dilution for 10:00 at 20C) is either 320 or 400 (my camera gave me the same exposure for both settings). So if you want 400 speed (or close to it) from Fomapan 400, PC-Glycol might do the trick.

Just for your information, I've shot rollfilm Fomapan 100 @ 800 and developed it in R09 1:40 semi-stand for 35minutes and it came out rather well...

Don't ask me why I did it, I had to, bad light, no better suited film at hand (I run out of HP5+), not repeatable conditions (wedding)... Necessity is the mother of invention...
