All,
Based on a couple of forum posts equating Foma 100 to APX, I ordered a box of 4x5 from Freestyle to experiment with. Not having any experience with this film, I also ordered a bottle of Arista Premium Liquid film developer as a starting developer.

That said, I'd like to hear from the Foma users out here what developers you've found to be the best. Since I primarily shoot LF I'm mostly interested in tonal progession/smoothness over sharpness. I should mention, too, that I process most of my film in a Jobo with Expert Drums.

Thank you for any and all suggestions provided.

I use mainly rodinal, 1:25 dilution. I've also used it in HC110 and ID11 with good results However, I do all of my processing via trays.

Foma 100 is great in boring old D-76 1:1.

I haven't tried other developers yet, but I certainly intend to do so.

I've only shot two or three 35mm rolls of Foma 100 (but more of the 200 and 400). I really liked the results I got when I processed it in Dead Link Removed though. Very subjectively, the tonality was very appealing. Of course, you might not agree, or the larger formats might not respond in the same way, but if I were to shoot more Foma 100, I'd start processing it with DS-12.

I've had excellent results processing Fomapan 100 in Pyrocat-HD and Pyrocat - P

i love foma 100 in hc110 1:119 at 20c for 18 min. 30 sec agitation and then every 3rd min after that. it is really sweet, try it.

Interesting...
I soup 120 foma 100 in hc110 1:100 at 20C for 18 min. 30 sec agit, then one inversion only every minute after. I love the results.

Thanks to all who replied.

For srs5694 - do you know if the DS-12 formulation would work okay in Expert Drums on a Jobo? Thanks!

I've never used it in anything but a manual tank, so I don't know for sure. You could try contacting Ryuji Suzuki, who created the formula. (He's on APUG, or you could look for contact information on the Wiki site I referenced in my earlier post.)

Tried it once in 120 in xtol. Looks pretty good, but a very short dev time.
