I had this listed a couple weeks ago and decided to withdraw the ad and do a few things with the camera first. Well, I bought a parts camera to replace a missing winder knob, tested the camera with film, and lifted some of the leather to take care of several "Zeiss bumps". I'm now putting it back up for sale. In a world of supposedly rare and vintage cameras, this one stands out, IMO. For the price, it is one of the most rare and interesting cameras out there. It has interchangeable lenses, a 70mm tessar and a 140mm telephoto, has a reflex mirror, a focal plane cloth shutter (no pinholes, great condition), several shutter speeds, takes 120 film and gives a negative that is about 2 1/4 by 2 3/8 inches. The camera is really small compared to others of it's age. And it takes some really amazing pictures with a unique rendering (check out flicker for samples). Rarely sold with both lenses, this set includes them both (they have no marks or scratches or fungus but some haze that is easily removed), also includes 2 close up lenses, 2 color filters, the instruction book, and the extra camera which also has it's own 70mm Tessar lens. With a little work, the spare camera can be put into service and it would easily sell for about $100.00. The spare camera has had the leather removed but I will include a sheet of self-adhesive leatherette large enough to recover it. I am posting the pictures of the camera that I took previously, will update them tomorrow. The camera works well, the shutter works great, no normal shutter speeds but just some numbers that you match to the scale inside the top cover and these speeds with the aperture makes pictures, you get used to the right settings quite fast actually. I usually gladly take returns on gear but for this one I would like to sell as-is, not due to any issues but if the wrong person gets it in his/her hands and forces a lever or gear it can easily be damaged, so no returns.
This is a camera that is SURE to increase in value over the years, already 80 years old and still working well. $490.00 shipped in USA
