Hi All.

I have a Linhof Technika IV, and it has a threaded access hole for the now defunct Kalart Focuspot. Does anyone know when Linhof stopped putting that access hole in their cameras? Did the V have it, or was the IV the last one?

The reason I ask is that I'm currently working on a modern replacement for the Focuspot, and while I know there's a large market for these in the Graflex market (well, large is a relative term), I was wondering just how many Linhof's could even use it! Thanks!

I think there was an early version of the Tech V that had it, but eventually they must have finished the box of rangefinder housings with the Focuspot fitting, and they eliminated it.

Mike:

I have a late IV/V transition model (IV with plastic front rise lever) with the Focuspot threaded port. I have not yet made a good effort to make the needed light source, but I have a lot of small lenses and can try. I can tell you that a laser pointer didn't work, and neither did an unfocused keychain type light.

Perhaps we can share notes and make something that works.
