Focusing screen sizes?

Hi all,
I'm thinking about making a brighter screen for my Bronica EC-TL II. Easiest is to cut from a screen for another camera that's good enough. Can you measure and post sizes of screens for other 6x6 cameras (well, Bronica SQ and Hassy) and Mamiya 6x7?

I'm desperately trying to find answer to this questions on different forums over the last several weeks and no one answered yet at all. I'd greatly appreciate if you could take a ruler and measure the screen of your camera, if you have one. It's that simple.

The cheapest screen was the Mamiya 67 but there may be no more NOS available any more.

This is not the answer you wanted to hear I know.

To measure a focus screen accurately on cameras that don't have removable screens, you usually need to remove the screen mounting system to get to the underside. There is a frame on the top that hides the true size of the screen. So it isn't that easy...

Well, at least on SQ and Hassy it's very easy, on SQ there's even no metal frame.
I don't need very precise values, just is it more than 53x58-60 mm or less.

The RB 67 screens are larger than 7x7 as you might expect.

Generally a 'brighter' screen means one or more of these

Finer ground surface lets more light thru at expense of focus precision
Coated surface lets more light thru
Fresnel lens collimates light striking ground glass so it appear brighter

Keep in mind that if you use TTL metering prism, a brighter screen adds error to your metering!

Call Bill Maxwell at (404) 244-0095. He made a screen for my Rollei 4x4 grey (I sent him the old one to copy). I also have one in my Rollei 2.8 and my Hasselblad 500C. Next up is my Mamiya 645.

Are Mamiya screens made of glass or plastic?

The Mamiya 645 screens are both glass & plastic. I think the RZ screens are the same as you can use a waist level finder.

Hello,
the Mamiya screens have two parts. The lower is the fresnel lens/matte fosussing screen (plastic), the upper part is for protection and has the grid or format lines engraved. For a substitution of a sreen of another camera you only need the lower part. If you get a complete screen, you have to dismantle it. In the Mamiya service you could get the lower part only.
