Focusing is always a challenge for me. My eyes are 56 years old with a slight astigmatism. (I don't know how my eyes got so old when the rest of me...) It takes too much time to focus.

I have a split screen focuser. Is there another type that might be better?

Thanks.

Janet

I see this one for sale:

"Acute Matte 42165... As integral components of Hasselblad's modular approach to creating dynamic camera systems, Acute-Matte screens provide you with the best of all possible views. Precision cut to incredibly high tolerances, the rings of the Fresnel field are completely invisible in the viewfinder. Brightness and clarity are unrivaled making focusing easier than it's ever been. Compatible with all Hasselblad lenses and finders."

Is that what I want? Is there anything better?

Janet

Hi Janet
A prism helps if you have only the waist-level finder. A "bright screen" may help a lot. May 56 yo eyes are still serving me well (knock on wood).

I have a prism but I think it's a sorry one. I like the waist level finder better, so am looking for a new focusing screen to use with the wlf. The "better" prisms are too expensive for me right now.

I got a focusing screen for my 500 C/M from Satin Snow. There is no split screen, it is just a piece of ground glass, but it works better than the piece of plastic that was in there before.

How about an Acute-Matte D with split screen and microprism?

I use a Brightscreen brand screen with the split image. I also have a flip up magnfier for my NC-2 finder. Works pretty well, I'm 57 with trifocals.

Thanks, everyone. I'll check out recommendations.
