I have a new to me Nikon FM2N and want to use the self-timer. I have heard of some older cameras having problems with the timers and figured I'd ask opinions before using mine. Namely, I've heard of shutters getting stuck. This may not be a problem at all with this particular camera, but I'd hate to find out the hard way. The camera is in great shape, by the way. Thanks for any advice.
I have never had a problem with either of my two FM2n bodies while using the self timer. One of my FM2n bodies is over 20 years old and has never been serviced. It does have a loose hot shoe now, but since I no longer use it, I have no plans on getting it fixed anytime soon. Great cameras though. Probably Nikon's biggest masterpieces to date.
Thanks for the info. It's my first camera ever, excluding a ps from the early 80's, and I'm really having fun with it. I'm developing my own film and will soon begin printing at home. I still need to collect a few items, but I'm close.
