I noticed this anomaly on my recently developed roll of tmax. Looks like a shutter issue, similar to incorrect flash sync speed, except this wasn't taken with a flash. It shows up about every 3-4 pictures. Anyone know what's causing this and how do I fix it? C.L.A.?

Is the exposure anomaly visible on the negative, or just the scan?

Does the FM2 shutter run horizontally or vertically?
I think it's vertically, so unless the image is a crop changing the orientation, the exposure/lighting anomaly couldn't be caused by the camera shutter.

What Frank said... the FM2 has a vertically travelling shutter.

I would think that if it was a development issue you would see this on all the frames.

In the provided image, the line is close to, but not truly perpendicular to the edge. Makes me think the line is the edge of the film canister, which would then make me think of some type of light fogging/light leak? Not anything I would automatically think of as a light leak, but it's the only thing I could come up with.

As pointed out above, it can't be a shutter issue. And as also stated, a developing issue would result in all images being affected.

So I'll say some type of light leak. And the longer a frame sits waiting for it's turn at the exposure, the more pronounced it will be. The less time between frames, you may not even see it.

Was the example shot the first of x after a re-posing, a break, or maybe it was the first frame?

OP. do a short test that will either confirm or refute my guess; measure the distance on the negative from the line to the trailing edge of the previously exposed frame. Compare that distance to the distance from the edge of a cassette to the left edge of the film gate. If they are the same, I'll stay with my guess above. If they're different, then I haven't got a clue.
