Now that I am getting used to using my 8x10 I want to start the project I originally bought the darn thing for. I will be shooting where the lighting is only floescent and maybe, depending on where I am at the time, very faint filtered outside light. I read somewhere, can't remember where, that florescent lighting kills contrast. Is this true? Will it have an effect on filter usage, due to the blue color cast?
I know that the sheer size of most flourescent bulbs will kill contrast by having very soft edged shadows. All you have left after that is the intrinsic range of reflectivity and sometimes that aint much!
