I use a supposedly archival print washer that holds the prints vertically. After about 45 minutes of washing, the prints float to the top of the water. Is that a significant event? Thanks for whatever help you can give me.

It's due to dissolved gas in the water collecting on the prints. I have a washer that does the same thing. To avoid it, I periodically give the prints shake to shake off the bubbles.

I give mine a 180 degree turn half way through the wash. Maybe that would do the trick for you..?

Thanks for the quick response. I am happy to say I had come to the same conclusion about aerated water causing the float. I just gave them a shake. And thank you Murray for the welcome. Now I have to get up courage to post a print, if I can figure out how.
