I have recently acquired a Leica M2 and would like to know what adapter I need to be able to use flash via the pc socket.

this socket is not at all like the socket on my M6.

You have to buy an adaptor, why not post a wanted add here.

Better still try Dead Link Removed, give David a call, or pop in he's not too far from you. It's worth buying a spare as well.

You can get adapters, called logically enough Leica-M-to-PC, or you can have the socket changed. A long-established camera store (not Jessops!) might have one in a drawer. I have one somewhere that came with a Leica but damned if I know where.

But using flash with an M-series Leica is heresy anyway!

Thanks for the info mr hicks.

its not something i intend to do often. but, just occasionally, needs must when the devil drives, i'm afraid.

I bought an adapter the other day from Mr Cad of Croydon for £8 (Kaiser, product # 1313). They might have another! I also bought some cover plugs for the flash sockets from India (Active Industries).

Regards,

David
