What would be a good replacement for the chrome cylinder bulb light saber type flash for a Busch C camera? It looks like a Metz might attach to the bar on the right side of the camera, are there any that would look right on this camera?

Thanks,
Curt

The ring with the clip that attaches to the old press camera flash mounts is generally known as an "e-clip." They used to be made by Veach, which makes the Jones Bracket, but I couldn't find it there. If you want an electronic flash, you can probably find an old Honeywell Strobonar with the right clips on the handle. Here's one--

With anything that old, figure the battery needs to be recelled, and if it doesn't, that's a bonus.

If you've got the flashbulb handle, you can probably move the clips to another handle mount flash like Metz.

I hadn't hear of the "e-clip" term before, I'm not that familiar with the nomenclature of the old press cameras. I'll see what I can get to fit, the Honeywell looks good. I remember using flash bulbs way back but I can't remember what camera I was using. I haven't used a flash in a long time. It would be nice if my flash bulb unit could be converted to a flash tube but I have better fish to fry.

Caution, shameless plug below:

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

But, as David noted, does need to be recelled.

An electric shaver cord (at least here in the US) happens to fit the twin post. You could take a pc to pc cord, cut it, and splice the shaver cord in. Not pretty, but it does work.
