My flash adapter don't fit many of my old cameras. I put 2 red dots in the picture. The distance between the 2 slots next to the red dots is 12,5mm. This is too much.
Was there ever a standard for this?
Do you know any inexpensive adapter that is sure to fit on old cameras?

This extruded profile was most common back then in Germany. It was used for various versions of adapters.
I used them myself without problems. Even built my own version based on it. It is still offered by Hama.

But as you see there is a chance to spread the male part by pressing the female part. Maybe that happened to your sample.

I use a Kaiser flash cord adaptor, and it seems to fit all of my old cameras, from Leica 111f though Vitessa t and others fits every old camera I own, and I have a lot as I only ever use classic rangefinders/tlr'rs/viewfinders and a lot of folders

As for so many things there is now an international standard (ISO 518) for the dimensions of accessory shoes, but that doesn't mean manufacturers conformed to any standard. For the most part, my new flashes do not fit my old cameras.

Very interesting. My flashes are from the 50s to 80s, so I can't speak for modern ones.

Thank you! I found the Kaiser adapter and it's very affordable.
