Fixing a broken Zenit-E in Sweden/Europe?

Hi,
I inherited a Zenit-E from 1970, after my father, who loved all things film. I wanted to sell it, but decided to buy a roll of film to see if it worked. I found it so enjoyable that photographing portraits with this old camera is my favourite past-time nowadays.

I've been using it for 3 years without many issues, but today the camera broke, and I'm devastated! The lever to pull the film forward stopped working, and does not do anything now.

So I wonder; does anyone know of any camera store or film lab that would consider fixing the camera for me? Preferably in Sweden, or somehere in Europe.

I'm so sad that my dad's camera is broken, and would love to get it fixed.

Welcome to Photrio! I'm sure someone here will have an idea. You might contact Kamera Store in Finland, ask if they can help or know someone who can.

Zenit-E is very repair-able, but camera + lens might normally have a market value of ~€40, while cost of repairs could easily exceed €100, so not many shops will touch it.

The easiest thing to do is simply buy another camera from someone who specializes in Soviet cameras, and who has already performed any necessary repairs.

But if you really want to keep your existing camera and are good with complex mechanical devices, it might be possible for you to repair it yourself. You will need some miniature screwdrivers and a spanner wrench in order to remove the top cover of the camera.

Thanks! Since it's my dad's old camera I'd really like to keep the existing one. I have some hooks out, so fingers crossed someone will take the bait, but if not, I'll try to fix it myself.
