I am new to devloping my own film and I have settled on using xtol and I am wondering if I should use a commercial fixer or make one (I work in a lab). Also I have access to virtually limitless supplies of Kodak Xray film fixer, could I use this? I have used Delta, Tmax, Neopan and APX in the past and I am trying the new J and C 400 film at present. I have read throught the forums and would appreciate some advice.
Thanks
Nick

No quibble there. Your quote about a self-taught man having a fool for a master sounds like a truism, but if the self-taight man is not a fool at the start, he will learn, and if he is a fool already, he may not have enough wits to know if the master he chose is a fool.
