Five film camera for under £50 part 2... now part 3?

Hello all

I did this post a few months back for my blog, collecting a few cameras I'd shot with over the past few years that could be bought for less than £50 (about $75).

It's a follow-up I did to a post back in 2014 - great fun to research and write.

So the question is... what to include for part 3?

Interested to hear other people's choices for a cheap film shooter - could be an SLR, compact or rangefinder.

Pentax ME Super routinely goes for under $75 with a lens. I really liked it when I was shooting with it...
 
Like i needed to see THIS Post...
There are a few Pentax and Minolta that i would Love To Own. But that would mean, unfortunately, buying more lens.
I know it will not change the quality of my photos.....i just enjoy Owning/Using all these different (and well made) 35mm from the Golden Age of SLR manufacture.
I just, last year, got back into photography when i found my old Canon Sure Shot...and it was still loaded with a half-used roll of Fuji Color Film.
I had owned a Canon AE-1, but it got stolen. When i looked into a replacement, i was Shocked at the "low" prices of SLR cameras. I was completely ignorant of the state of Digital SLR. I knew they existed of course, but i did not realize how they had supplanted film.
I Never Thought i would own a Nikon F2. Now i own a 2 and a 3.
Anyway, yeah, a SRT and a Pentax K1000 plus one or two other models from those companies.
 
The Minolta SRT 101, etc are wonderful cameras. My best friend had one back in the and I occasionally used it. However. IIRC it used mercury cells for the meter. Not good! Another possibility would be the Praktica LTL and its variants. Not the best fit and finish, but rugged and reliable. Since the meter uses a bridge circuit, it doesn't need the mercury cell it came with. And M42 lenses are readily available and cheap.

Definitely Nikkormats. Nikon mount, excellent metering, nice viewfinder, depth of field preview, self-timer, robust construction.
 

I've done the SRT 100X in the second post - a great camera. I plan to get my hands on a 202 or 303.

The LTL keeps cropping up - I cut my teeth on the MTL 5, so I have a soft spot for Prakkies. I'll add that to the list. Cheers.
 
Yes, Praktica series L cameras would definitely fit.

On a more sophisticated side, I would add the Fujica AX (bayonet) cameras.
 
Canon Rebel 2000 with a kit zoom - at least on this side of the Atlantic.
 
Likewise, Canon EOS 500N (Rebel G). A good set of features and controls and the amazing EF mount. They can be found between $10 -$20.
