First take on Wehman Camera.

Tom what 4x5 back did you get to use? I am tryign to find one that will take my 6x12 roll film back.

For the 5x7 back what did you use for that?

Kev

Kevin, my 4x5 back is a Singer Graphic Graflok back that I got NIB on eBay. I shipped it to Bruce Wehman who made an adapter and mounted it for me. It accepts all my rollfilm backs, including my 6x12 DAYI.

My 5x7 back is a "no name" spring back that I bought on eBay. Again, Bruce Wehman made an adapter and mounted it for me. It works fine.

Hi All,

I just took delivery of a Wehman camera a few days ago and thought I would share my initial impressions. The camera is built like tank, and as Kevin said the level of workmanship is very very impressive. The movements are impressive and its very very easy to set up and use.

The rear swing took me a little bit to figure out, but the more I use it the more I like it. Much easier to use than my now dear departed Tachinara 8x10.

I will need to spend more time with the camera to really understand its full capabilities, but at least for me, its going to be a great camera. The only issue I have, is my own fault. I ordered a linhof adapter board, the the hole is a little bit to small to get some of rear elements of some of my lenses through, whereas it was fine with the Tachihara linhof adapater. I will be ordering another board from Mr. Wehman with an enlarged hole to solve the problem.

A special thanx to Kevin, for helping me make up my mind!

Hope it helps.

Gary
