Ok I've just bought (waiting for it to arrive) my first medium format camera Yashica mat 124G Medium Format TLR Camera.

I've had a read through the forums so I'm not just jumping straight in without doing a bit of my own research and I've done a fair amount of googling without much help - few questions:

1. Do I need to buy a 80mm lens for my Durst M370 enlarger?
2. Where can I get hold of the converter bits and bobs so I can use my Durst M370 enlarger with the negatives?
3. Looked on line - struggling with where I could get a manual from so I can learn how to use my new toy

All help really appreciated - I'm like a child in a toy shop...........!

Big thanks

Rebecca

Need is such a strong word. Assuming that you are currently doing 35mm, you probably have a 50mm lens in your enlarger. Using this lens will allow you to enlarge a circular part of the middle of each of your 6x6 negatives. An 80mm lens will let you get the whole thing - and as such would be strongly advised.

I believe that the M370 has a kit available with all of the bits and bobs to do 6x6 in it. In particular what you are going to want is:

80mm lens
New condenser, or spacers for the existing condenser
New negative carrier.

You can probably find the kit at anyplace that sells the Durst Englarger, or you could find the parts on E-bay.

Another source for manuals is:

I just got one for my "new to me" Hassey 503CXi from him.

Seems to have a manual for just about every piece of photographic gear imaginable!
