first roll with prinz 35er expsure problems

yesterday I picked up the first test roll taken with a prinz 35er just bought (sister of the minolta hi matic 7 sii, vivitar 35es revue400 etc). i used a 1.5v battery for hearing aids and the auto aperture selector needle worked just fine. Now I find all the photos with too much light and too much contrast. Is the fault of the battery? i must step down the iso? Or is it the fault of the film I used (lomography negative color 400) I always shoot in black and white but I used this roll since it was at home. Can anyone give me some advice? So you can redo another test maybe without burning it?

2. Please post a smartphone pic of your negatives against a white background; with a minimum distance to ensure the background is indeed white and not in the shadow of the film.

is it ok this pic? i know lot of unknows. I shot only with bnw with other cameras but for exposures test i said maybe color film is better. But this lomo 400 its a strange film indeed

Exposure looks good on those negatives, certainly very printable.

How were the scans obtained? Did you do them? Did the lab do them?

I did it with epson V300 ubuntu and image scan! Software. With black and with i never had troubles. I tried use vuescan but can find the scanner with this program. Then i must find a solution in the scan work? the camera exposure working good with 1.5 volt?

That is another huge variable. If you have never scanned color negatives, you need to learn the basics and take some tutorials.

Until you do that, how about shooting a roll of B&W, which you appear to be comfortable with, and compare it to your prior results?

thanks to everyone. This is the best forum for analogic photography! I downloaded vue scan and after some test i can say the problem was the scan software (and the really strange lomo 400 negative film roll) . the important thing is the prinz 35er (and maybe vivitares minolta hi matic 7 sii, revue400 and konica s2 ) can works with 1.5v hearing battery aids. thanks all who helped me. merry christmas!

Better, but still a strong cyan cast. In vuescan, in the preview image, do a right-click on a part of the image that is supposed to be white (or neutral grey). Then, scan. Attached a modified image giving a rough idea of what to expect. Also, your image is soft; not sure what to expect from a V300 in that respect. Maybe the film holder height needs to be adjusted, if that is possible.

the photo did not come out well. It was taken in low light in the late evening on a cloudy day. just because it was a test roll I looked for extreme situations. before it was a burnt shot now it's just ugly. cyan must be a characteristic of this type of lomo film. to conclude the v300 will no longer be a great deal but for now that's enough for me. I'm attaching another photo from the same test roll taked at night with artificial lights and in this case I really like the lens and the camera. And the scan

Indeed the Minolta 7SII is a first-rate camera. Your last picture is interesting as an image but does not tell much about the lens and camera. I second the advice of John Koehrer.
