Got the lens for $90 and the camera for $123. Both were quite dirty and tatty, but I cleaned up the lens a bit (am still afraid to go for the dust inside,) re-glued and conditioned the leather of the camera, lubricated the shutter mechanism and it's now in good working order.

Let light into the the first frame I took
Second one I caught the girl with a goofy look
Third one I front focused
Fourth one was over exposed just a little (but deliberately so it looks like the shutter speeds are fine)

Over all I'm quite pleased.

To get the same depth of field look on a 35mm camera, how fast would the lens have to be the same depth of field? The focal length would have to be 178/3.52 == 50mm Would it have to be a f/0.7 lens?
