First Full Film Tour after more than 15 years

Hi folks!

here again after a few months (I moved from old home). Meanwhile I went on with film photography (bought more cameras and lenses ) and decided to make a "full film" tour in Bayern last december. It took a while to develp the 8 (!) rolls I made with four different cameras but... I did it at last!

I used a Leica R-E, Olympus OM2n & OM10 and Canon P Rangefinder. Plus a lot of lenses.

Congratulations! I do all vacations 100% analog, though not with the level of success you have achieved here. Your website is nice and full of very, very high quality images. Did that image you posted here require dodging and burning, or was the light naturally like that? Gorgeous!!

Great! About two years ago, my Wife and I spent 2 1/2 weeks in Japan. I took a Nikon F and an Olympus XA. She took a Canon P&S. We used Kodak & Fuji color film exclusively. We are very happy with the results, and put together an album. Of course, I did have the negatives scanned and put together a "slide show" for my computer so we can show it on monitors/TV's for large groups. What fun!

Thank you very much Natan for you kind words.

Nope, I don't add any dodge/burning or sharpening on the images I post in my blog. I only adjust curves & light levels for luminosity and contrast. A sort of time of exposure & contrast grading when printing in the Darkroom.

Yep.... it seems so strange (to digital fellows) to make a film tour nowadays..... but we did it all the times until early '2000s...!

Btw. Great place... Japan! I spent 1 whole month in Tokyo in 2009....and I'm always miss those days there....

Wow, only the one picture you linked direktly is amazing, and the rest is also very good. I wish such content could be displayed to a wider range of people so that film is getting more attention.

Yep... the first one is one I like most too..... It was a nice alpine lake with low clouds and sun breaking through....

I'll try to do my best to share my film experience with other people.... and I see (speaking about my FB group of >6000 people)... interest toward film is steadily growing...

Welcome back to film! I took a look at your blog, and agree with you about the XP2. It never did do it for me, but I really like Ilfords HP5+ for B&W. I prefer color slide myself, but went for Kodak Ultramax 400 and Portra 400 for photos over the holidays since it's more sensitive and less contrasty than the currently available slide films.

Try some Rollei IR400S or Retro 400 with a cheap 720nm infrared filter for B&W infrared goodness!

Yep.... in my blog there are already a couple of post about Rollei IR 400 made with a chinese 720nm filter which worked very well!
