First Bay Area Alternative Photographers Get Together

If you are an alternative photographer creating images from hand coated emulsions that you coated yourself, then lets get together over coffee to show and discuss your images and the challenges that they presented and how those challenges were overcome. This is not meant to be a gear focused discussion but an image focused discussion. I currently print in 5 of the historical processes: Cyanotype, Kallitype, Salt Paper, Uranotype and Van Dyke and am prepared to bring 1 represented print of each process.

Lets shoot for Saturday, 10 September @ 10:00am. I have a large east bay Starbucks in mind but am open to location. If interested, send me a PM here or an email from my website below. I look forward to meeting you and seeing your work.

Thomas

Would love to be there but it is a 6 hr drive south, however I am driving south around then, so who knows? I would bring a platinum and a carbon print.

As a place to meet in the East Bay, you might want to contact Geir Jordahl at PhotoCentral in Hayward. Good meeting room and we occassionally give alt processes workshops there.

What about lookie loo's who maybe just want to check out the prints?

Even though I'm not close might want to come share..

I might be able to swing by. I'd like to see a couple of your prints in person, Tom. And I'd like to see one of Vaughn's carbon prints in person.

Perhaps I will bring a calotype negative and resulting salt print. My calotypes cannot be read in reflective light... you must hold them up and view with transmissive light to see them.

Not sure I can make it but I would love to. So...maybe.
