First AE-1

I use bulldog clips when hanging film. They are usually zinc coated, not it matters considering they will be making contact with non image parts of the film anyway. Just clip one on each end of the strip and the film should dry niceand flat
 
I just ran and got wooden clips. 3 more minutes of fixing. I gotta squeeze dinner and geting ready for work in here too. AAAAHHHH.

So, I learned what happens when you don't add enough developer. Damn that tank was bigger than I thought and 1 liter does not go far at all. Live and learn. Now I have to leave my mess and go to work. I'll work on scanning a negative tomorrow.
 
Don't too discouraged if your negs turn out badly, After all you you are learning the same way as me "trial and error" a person seems to NEVER forget the errors. And it is only a Holga. Not that there is anything wrong with them it is just that I think I cannot get a $1000 picture out of a $50 plastic camera.
 
I forgot I was in the 35mm room too. Sorry. I'm not certain but I think the images came out. Well, the portion that was under the liquid.
 
Did twice. Maybe if I agitated more, the line would be less apparent. I was way short on time, and cooking supper at the same time. My tank is a lot larger than I thought and I wasn't thinking about which chemicals to reuse and which were one timers. All the things running through my ADHD head were not conducive to learning this process.
 
I agitate the film and fixer the entire time that I am fixing it. Usually with fresh fixer it is approx 6 min. You can always refix your film it is not completely fixed. I do my 120 the same as my 35mm. The only thing different is the developing time and the amounts of stop & fixer.
I have tried stand developing but I was never too thrilled about the outcome of the film

Who knows. It may have been the developer. As I am EXTREMELY new. I haven't figured it out, but the bottom portion that is...darker I think, still shows an image, just maybe underdeveloped/underfixed. As I'm running it through my head, I think it may have been the developer. I'll manage some sort of pic up here tomorrow and see what the verdict is. Either way, I need to add more chemistry and agitate more.
 
Well, that too. I've gotta shoot more before I can process more. BTW, my ae-1, av-1 and lenses ship tomorrow. Then I'll actually have something to talk about here in the 35mm thread.
 
Before I got myself yelled at, I moved my "funny paper" over (there was a url link here which no longer exists) Don't tell anyone what you see.
 
Hope yours works out better than mine. My "mint" Canon AE-1 had numerous problems and I am requesting a full refund. I hope there is a special place in hell for people who sell cameras as "working fine" when they know they are not. Of course, they (probably) need a lot of OTHER sins to end up in hell, but hope this gets them extra pitchforking.
 
Sorry man. I got the AV-1(I bought it for the lenses) yesterday and my camera guy gave it a once over and it seems to work like a charm. Even had a battery. I can only hope the AE-1(the one I wanted) works just as well.
