Just finished putting the final pieces on the Mamiya Universal "Flat Top" I have been working on for a few weeks. Came out pretty good. Not that I need the camera, I mostly bought it for the 150mm lens that came with it but it was fun to take apart. It had been exposed to a lot of moisture as the aluminum was oxidizing and bubbling under the leatherette and paint. I basically stripped it all the way down, repainted the inside, new light seals, cut the VF/RF off and capped the top with a piece of ABS plastic. I installed a cold shoe for an external VF and I have a dual axis bubble level on the way that is made for a cold shoe but I am just going to install it permanently since I don't want to install another cold shoe just for the level. I have my Mamiya 65mm lens and VF mounted on it in the photo along with my 6X9 back and the grip that came with the camera, the cable release was frozen from interior rust so I pitched it and sanded and repainted the grip. I found the paints you can get at an auto parts store that are made for touch up works really well for camera repair as it has extra hardeners in the paint so it wears better and dries quicker. Although I did not use that same paint for the inside, I just used a flat black.
Anyway just wanted to share my little toy with the world!
