I have a Coolscan 9000 which is my main workhorse for digitizing film images. A few years ago, I invested in an FH-869G carrier which I used quite a bit for both MF and for 35mm panoramic images--very handy. But mine disappeared sometime in the last year. It could conceivably have been stolen, though who would steal such an obscure piece of gear (while leaving much more valuable equipment untouched) is a curious question. But at any rate, it seems to be gone. I have an FH-869S that still can be used for 120 film, but for the panoramic 35 the only option I now have is an older Epson flatbed with a glassless carrier that produces scans notably inferior to those from the Nikon. I would like to replace the FH-869G, but these items for sale seem to have become rare from usual sources. None are to be had on Ebay any more.I found one listing on a German website but the seller wants US$1,400 for it--highway robbery, in my opinion. There was one listed on fredmiranda.com from a Danish seller for a more reasonable sum, but on inquiry I was informed that as I was not a long-standing member of that community, he was not authorized to sell to me. Another one from France was also listed more reasonably, but the seller has failed to respond to my inquiries. I could probably get one of these carriers if I bought a whole new scanner, but that would be $3,000+ and there is nothing wrong with my current one as far as I know.

Does anyone here know of any more promising sources for this item?

No need anymore to waste money on the overpriced original holders for the Coolscans 8000ED/9000ED. Get the 3D printed Stephen Scharf holders with masks to suit. Several orders of magnitude better than the original. Perfect film flatness, easy to use

Head over to the "Nikon Coolscan" Facebook group for more information.

Hmm. So there's fresh hope for anyone who might purchase a unit that's missing the holders then. That's good news.

That's the one. He is based in Germany, and speaks perfect English. He can be contacted via email to discuss options (for example, I needed masks for 6x4.5, 6x6 and 6x8, he is very scrupolous and asked me for precise negative frame measurements for all of them). When contacted, he will share a google drive folder with documents/options etc.

He's very busy printing these, demand is huge. Lead time for me was about 4 months. Entirely justifiable IME because his holders have had a huge impact on my scanning workflow and results.
