Finally flocked the inside of my Lubitel as recommended by forum members to avoid internal reflections. Looking inside it now appears pitch black (I used flash in the picture which is why it doesn’t appear pitch black with bright flash)
I used triple black velvet from the fabric store after an online search which showed some tests showing high quality black velvet can perform the same or better than specialized flocking material at light trapping for the purpose of lining telescopes, so hopefully it will work well.
I hope the pictures will come out with no weird fringing, gonna take some test pics and scan them soon.
Also pictures is my Lubitel with flash bracket, cable release, and flash. The flash makes the whole thing lopsided and weighted a little weird unfortunately.
I ordered it from Ukraine and the seller claimed it was cla’d, it appears to be very clean and the lens is very clear and focus is smooth, and I’ve gotten used to using the waist level finder with my eye right up to the viewfinder for a better view using the magnifier, focusing works great despite me hearing complaints about it.
