what's the process, without "zone system" and not using *ensitometer

19 shutter speeds are usable from 30s to 1/8000
f-stop range 22 to 1.8

Compose on some even target.

Meter the target with your meter set to your 'first guess' exposure index (EI).

close the lens down 4 stops from the indicated settings.

Expose the film.

Process the film.

Hold the negative over your exposure meter and see that it cuts the light 1/3 of a stop compared to a blank piece of film. If so, then your 'first guess EI' was correct. If it is too dense then use a higher EI, if it is clear then use a lower EI.

Dead Link Removed method has worked remarkably well for me. There's a tiny bit of zone system theory in there and it doesn't require a densitometer.
