I think film will continue to be used by the motion picture industry for at least another 15-20 years, and will remain popular with art photographers (i.e., the people who frequent these forums), but as a mass consumer format, the writing's on the wall. For point-and-shoot and strictly utilitarian photography, digital is too inexpensive and offers too many advantages for traditional photography to stand a chance. I'm just happy I can still get my pictures developed at the local drugstore at reasonable cost and can still find Kodak and Fuji film at the supermarket for $2-3 a roll.

Who knows what the future will hold for film if the economy takes another downturn (which I think it will).

Or she could refer to it as the "Big Red K" (but then someone might think she's referring to Kellogg's).

I saw a TV program called Celebrity Snappers last week (actually, it was on - I wasn't watching it) but I noticed an assortment of RB67s, RZ67s and Hasselblads being used. When I looked to see if they had digital backs, I noticed that they were all using film backs.

So this was on TV but was a documentary rather than drama so it was actual proper use of film. And no.... I didn't recognise any of the 'celebrities'!

Yesterday, I bought the books needed for the next school year.
One of the books has images that mimic sheet film!
The first one that I spotted measures around 10.5x15cm (4x5") and it has the black borders and identification notches. No codes or emulsion names. There are others, but none matching size.
Oviously, all of this is made with a computer, easily seen even by a non LF shooter that has seen a few sheet film scans online (me). The little part that hasn't got the black borders is white, that's where it's easily seen that isn't real 4x5.
