Recent forays to London Drugs and Kerrisdale Camera in Coquitlam Centre and a call to Fotofun in New West have virtually nothing above 400ASA of any brand - colour or black and white.
Where do I go now for 800 1600 or 3200 ASA? Mail order is fine as long as the price per roll is competative - even cross border is okay if the price is right.
For cross-border mail-order, try B&H or Dead Link Removed in New York or Freestyle in California. I don't know much about Canadian film prices or shipping charges from any of these places to Canada, but for in-US shopping, prices from any of these generally beat local film prices, even considering shipping -- at least, assuming you want to order more than a couple of rolls. Freestyle's prices are generally best for its house brand (Arista), which is made by various companies (Ferrania for color, Foma for B&W with older stock by others). B&H and Adorama are generally better for name-brand film (Kodak, Fuji, Ilford), particularly if you're willing to buy grey-market film.
Hi Medusa - which Lens and Shutter are you at and will you do mail order? Unfortunately, I am out in Port Moody so it is not easy to get into the Big Town.
When I lived in Vancouver I got almost 100% of my supplies from G King Photo on Cambie & 15th. Excellent people, great service there, and they have a ridiculous amount of film. They will even special order for you. I whole-heartedly recommend them.
