Hello

I'm new to this site and my first question is I have two rolls of B&W film (Fujifilm neopan professional 400 and Kodak Professional TRI-X 400TX) and I have gone everywere in my city that still develops film such as target, costco, CVS, and Walmart. No one does B&W. Does anybody on this site want to help me out and ill send it to you and you can develop it or point me in a direction of sombody that does it?

Any help is appericated.

Hi and welcome to APUG.

It would help us a lot if we knew where you are.

Best of luck.

These days B&W processing is almost always done by the photographer, with the exception of Henri C-B and a few others who can afford to hire processing staff. Now is the time to learn, especially with motivation. APUG is the place to be for information and help getting started.

Well from the stores you listed, it seems you might be somewhere in the USA, a city/state would help a lot, and none of those places have developed B&W for decades, if ever. Although Walmart's send out service might do it.

It's a good thing they didn't try either, you would have ended up with a couple of very clear strips of film. C41 colour processing works super well in removing the silver image from the film.

From our own APUG-supporting advertisers:

Blue Moon Camera (Portland, OR, USA)
Cox B&W Lab (Rancho Cordova, CA, USA)
Elevator Digital (Toronto, ON, Canada)

Any one of these fine establishments would be an excellent choice.

In our little shop/lab in the west of Ireland we still hand process B&W 35mm films for customers and we also do a small mail order service.

Off Topic: In 2012 or 2013 I will travel the west of Ireland for 3-4 weeks and would prefer to get the C 41 films developed before I go back home. Where is your lab?

The Darkroom, on Reseda Blvd just north of Nordhoff, on the west side of the street. Not far from the University.

Hey NikonGarret - my mistake. I must have blinked and they moved according to their web site... to Topanga Canyon Blvd in Woodland Hills. They were across from CSUN (and a bit further down Reseda Blvd) from way back in the 1980s. I must not be using them enough!

That address is Woodland Hills Camera, Topanga just south of Ventura

I'm confused. Call first!

You mean you have to be dead to afford to have processing done for you? Ooooh, very existential man.

As much as I hate to admit it, I live 30 minutes from Seamy – and as my much as I'd like to help you out, my parents refuse to let me.

Try checking out suggested mail order or enroll in a community college darkroom class (COC – College of the Crayons comes to mind).

Me. I also formulate developers and usually tip them out when I don't like them. My latest one however is a success.

Did a test @ 1+50 vs Rodinal 1+50, different times, same agitation routine, similar dMax. Mine has lower negative contrast, sharper developing, higher local contrast.
