I tired of cutting film with scissors and decided that would like to buy some sort of more comfortable and precise instrument.

Something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360233609325

(this is a bit too expensive I think).

One doubt I have is: will this kind of cutter work without problems with polyester film? If I buy something, it should work with polyester film as well.

Your experiences?

I bought one of these, and find that it works very well with Plus-X and TMY-2 in both 35mm and 120:

The cross-border eBay transaction worked well for me.

If the link has expired, search eBay for seller "3d-drt-3d".

The seller appears to have been very active in stereo photography for some time. He/she may know about using it with polyester base.

EDIT: it also works well with Ektachrome in 120 - it's actually easy to see where to cut between frames!

I have a Gepe, and it works with all film including polyester.

Yes, it would work fine. I have used a similar cutter for untearable and thin Ilford surveillance film. Very thin film needs a tight cutter, otherwise no problem at all.

I bought one of these, too, and it works well, but the guide rails are very close for the film format, and doesn't have enough clearance to feed sleeved film through (I get my film from the lab sleeved and uncut.) So I have to un-sleeve, cut the film, cut the sleeving, and re-sleeve.

Anybody know of one like this that can fit sleeved film?

I finally bought and received today this object:

http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180635283935

Kaiser diacut 1. I tried it today (film with acetate base) and I am very satisfied, the cut is very precise and easy. Waaay better than using scissors. Farewell, stress

It doesn't work for sleeved film.
