Their Facebook site is restricted to Facebook members.

Is that coater originating from Kodak Park?

No. IIRC it is from Polaroid by way of RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology). I read this in one of Mark's postings.

Mark, Nick and I have been working on this to get good coatings for camera use. Nick is currently working on a high speed ortho formula that should go well with this machine and is intended for a course next year.

How many feet are you planning on coating with this machine, and how will you manage the freshly coated strip as it comes off?
It's limited to a loop of about 6 feet. The coated film is draped over some racks; sort of like laundry day

For the film class, after drying, it's been slit into 35mm strips, perfed and then spliced together to run through a movie camera

The rods shown in the picture can be extended to give extra length or about 12 feet or a bit more, and the film can be run through the machine more than one time to allow additional coats of materials. Drying could be accomplished by some means of heated air application or you could do a wet coat over wet.
