Hi All
Does anyone know where I can obtain self-adhesive end-of-film-carton 'Memo Holder' or clips for 120 size film carton ends? Hama used to make them for 35mm carton ends but as far as I know they never made them for roll film.

Ah, but they did make them for roll film. I bought a couple many years ago.

Finding one today might be a challenge unless you have a very old photo shop that is willing to let you sort through their junk drawer.

I obtained some from Rollei in Germany that were made for the SL66.

They are similar to the Hama memo holders, in most respects. Would fit any camera, with a bit of contact cement.

Thanks for the suggestion. It so happens the ones I want are for my SL66 (and my Graflex RFHs) so I'll give F&H a try but with the recent changes there, it may be a long shot. If anyone happens to see some in the junk drawer(s) at their local camera shop (if you have one!) or at a camera fair I'd be grateful to be put in touch. I can pay with Str£, or any other currency by PayPal. Can't find B&W film here anymore, let alone chemicals.
Cheers

Do you mean a little self adhesive 'pocket' which you can stick to the camera and slide the box end tab into? If so, I could easily make one (or many). I have lots of sheet adhesive and plastic here and a laser cutter.

Let me know if you have no luck finding one and I will have a go.

I like a challenge.

Here are some prototypes. The picture is just a (not very good) scan. Left shows the adhesive/spacer to the rear, right shows the front.

If anyone wants any just send me your address via PM.

You can see tape marks on the back of a lot of old cameras on ebay. Personally I wouldn't put tape on the back of my camera leather though If you keep it on a metal part it probably wouldn't leave a mark.

Wow; admirable work, Steve. And quick as well!

Thanks.

After a slight modification in size, the end tabs fit in perfectly. Two people have expressed an interest so I have a couple of letters with them in waiting to be posted.

I just snip or tear the ends off the foil pack that the film comes in. Then I un-hook my camera strap and run it through the foil cyinder, before hooking it up again, leaving the film's foil / tube on the camera strap.

But those film-tab holders sure look cool!

Avery labels if you are not fussy about chrome or leatherette. PDA if you are

Or you could acquire one of those clear plastic business card holders (the kind that clip onto a lapel),and cut it down to size.

The holders you promised me arrived today and are superb. Thanks so much for these Steve, I've wanted to get some for ages and then to be given a bunch for nothing but a promise of a donation is a real treat.

One of my friends was a bid fed up with the human race today and I told her about the film holders you've made and sent around the world. She said her faith in human nature was significantly bolstered.

Thanks again,

Peter

I will chime in as well. I got my SS memo holders and one looks very nice on the back of my Rollei. Thank you very much

Steve,

Your Memo Holders arrived a few days ago, THANK YOU so much! I am absolutely delighted, and think you should be -selling- these! They are great on my medium-format cameras. Take care.
