Anybody know where I can get a multiple 35 mm roll cannisters? I would like a plastic case to carry 5-10 rolls, with the minimount of fuss and bulk. I know there were some available like 10 years ago, but haven't seen any for ages.

I would suggest maybe picking up a Xray protection case, or lead lined bag. they are designed to hold 5+ rolls and vary in size. Nikon also used to have a 2 roll weather sealed case.

Not really all that heavy. I have (or had, I don't remember where they are) a tube type arrangement that held 4 or 5 rolls and a box type arrangement that held 4 rolls.

Good morning;

There were also some black plastic film boxes that had lead added to the mix for protection from X-rays. I remember one by HAMA and I have one in hand right now by a French company Posso; their ARX Mk I "Film Guardian" that holds three 35mm film rolls. I cannot recall the HAMA model. I need to go through the camera bags and find them.

I remember seeing a video of a magnum photographer using one that had like ten rolls in a row. I really liked that idea.

The last place I saw something like that for sale - a smoked plastic tube with a snap plug at each end - that would hold 6 or 8 rolls - was in a Porter's Camera Store catalog. I requested and received a catalog from them a year or so ago so there's a good chance they're still in business.

Warning about the xray bags. I used to use them and then I went across Canada only to come home and develop all the film from my trip which was ruined by xray fog. I put 10 4x5 film holders, 20 rolls of 120 film and 20 rolls of 35mm film in two lead bags in my under carriage. What likely happened is that the security officer (when looking through the xray scan of my bag) said, "what's this in the bag? I can't see through it. Might as well crank up the juice until we can penetrate this lead bag" and subsequently ruined almost all my film. If you're asking this question because you are traveling to a country that has film, buy it there and forget the hassle. It will cost less in the long run if your film gets destroyed. If you're asking just for a case that holds 10 rolls, I've seen some interesting things on that auction site.

This not reall related to any xray fears. Never had a problem with xray machines. I just want order with minimum amount of bulk and fuss.
