Does anyone know the current situation regarding X-ray scanners and the ability or lack thereof of getting hand inspections of hand-luggage film in Oslo and Copenhagen? I’ll be traveling with 120 film if it matters.

Thank you.

Follow-up — No difficulty in getting hand inspection in Bergen, Alesund, and Oslo. Film was in a clear zip bag.

Good to know. Do they have CT scanners (round) or traditional X-rays (square)?

Athens airport has traditional and they would not hand-check unless I had 1600 speed film. I just let them scan it and it was okay, it ended up being the only X-ray of my trip.

All the scanners I saw seemed to be the older, traditional units, not CT. I didn't try to get too up close and personal with the machines as I figured that would not sit well with the staff.

I did foolishly have a roll of film in the Mamiya 7 when flying from Bergen to Alesund, and the security people understandably insisted that the camera had to go through. The scanner looked old so I wan't too concerned and didn't toss the film. I'll know in a couple of days.

Yesterday I made a few work prints from this roll. There's no evidence of X-ray damage.
