Hi everyone,

Currently I've got my "main file" and a backups on a separate drive plus a cloud backup. When I cull the main file (I seem to struggle with editing immediately after an outing and find myself going back weeks or months later to delete duplicates, failures, etc), I'd like to update the other 2 and don't know how to do it. Drag and drop will transfer everything again, or won't it? Obviously I'm a bit confused here LOL. Thanks for any guidance. Mark

In Windows 10 Pro drag and drop from the source to the destination drive the files are written to the destination once the available space has been confirmed to be adaquate then you are asked if you want to replace the existing files that are the same name and size as the ones from the source giving the option to decide for each file, the group, or to skip. I do not use the cloud.

A synchronizing app is a universal tool for that. I currently use SyncToy (free from Microsoft), but there are several of them.

I mostly care about date of original photo...but I also assign to a category or point of reference, such as place name (such as Taos). Within that, if appropriate, I label the file as "ACE".
This works with scanned film as well. One of my challenges is specifics about printing (inkjet) because some work gets done after the file on/with the printer itself.
