I have lost my mother and I am alone after all. My sister has a life and I dont want to intercept. I am looking for a place to live after all and Brazil , Argentina, Auroville or above islands are on the list.

I dont know above islands which sun would turn me an lobster.

What do you advise ? My heart goes to Auroville but my sister says I would be bored after 3 months.

There is hong kong , singapore and taiwan and japan are on the list also.

Which is the best ? I dont want strong sun , snow or cold.

I want only access to internet and video message with my sister.

I think sleeping at the beach on a chick is the best accomodation.

Thank you and this is real question.

Umut

How about California?

impossible , I dont want to be an mexican immigrant.

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. You have my best wishes for the future.

Japan is nice, but there is snow in Tokyo in winter. There are typhoons to contend with all up and down the island corridor and nowhere is safe, but the climate is ideal at other times.

Hawaii is very nice as is New Zealand, but then again it has snow.

Thank you very much Ron , you are so kind. I am not thinking usa because I feel its more dangerous than the storms , I did not visit usa but its a wild place for homeless , I saw many stories and read many people been deported after living there for 25 years.

I want to keep everything legal as possible , okinawa seems to me a tropic heaven but I dont know.

I dont want traffic , lots of different people but the tourists and local single culture .

I think india and maldives and singapore are so hot , and sun is strong.

Is there anyone knows okinawa , hong kong and the pasific islands ?

Okinawa is beautiful and the people are very nice. The climate is hot and humid in summer but perfect most of the rest of the year. I went through many earthquakes and typhoons there though so you have to be prepared for them.

I think that if you keep things legal entering and residing in the US, there is no deportation problem but you must either have a job or be retired. This is similar in NZ, AU and a few other countries IIRC. A friend recently went to AU for 3 years and he had to prove he had a job there for the 3 years, and he was not allowed to quit and change companies.

Hong Kong is under the government of mainland China. If you do not mind that, then it is a good place, but many Europeans are leaving Hong Kong.

Guam may be OK, but I know little about it.

Two recommendations:
1) Wait a year. Stay where you are. A quick change after loosing someone close could be a big mistake.
2) When you do move, rent for a year. If the move was a mistake, it is easier to correct if you are renting a place.

Best of luck, Kris

I heard Guam is the densest snake population in the world.

I think okinawa is good, there is vast array of subjects to research in japanese culture. I dont want to work and there is 25 years and tons of payment to retire here. Hong Kong is small and dense. And food quality is very low , air is thick and dirty.

Thank you Kris , I have to sell the home , I have only one month money.

Albania or Bosnia.

My condolences on the loss of your mother.

Thank you all , for your kind words. Thank you.

My condolences, Umut.

Visit Antalya or your favorite Mediterranean location, let the time settle you down, then decide the next stop.

Best wishes!

Thank you all , all I can do is to sell the house or trying to get a pension from gov. Istanbul is so expensive - water, electric , internet , heating, taxes, social security, health , hospitals- I dont know.

Well, theoretically you could relocate to Cyprus (the Greek part) or, also, one of the small islands near Sicily or even in Sardinia.

Sorry for your loss

In most cases, one has to have money to move to a different country. But good luck!

Now that's just mean.

No, not really. Mustafa is from Turkey; Libya is not that far away, has the climate he's looking for without the earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes/typhoons/tsunamis, and it's not Beirut in the 1980s (although it's not Beverly Hills either). As an American I wouldn't go there now, but if I were a Turk and therefore less likely to be targeted by people hostile to my presence, it would be worth considering. I'd also look at Tunisia and Morocco. I'd skip Egypt and Algeria though. Too developed, too expensive and too chaotic.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Mustafa.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother, Mustafa. Good luck in your quest for a new home. Perhaps familiarise yourself with the life and work of Josef Koudelka, if you do not already know it.

I too am sorry to hear about your mother. You mentioned her several times in your posts. My condolences
I thought the Turkey's Mediterranean shore, called the Turquoise Coast looked pretty good to me when I was looking at Turkey for a holiday.

Hello Mustafa

Fiji: No (I spent 8 months there). It is a VERY hot place! Limited internet connection. Good for holidays but not for living.

Tahiti: No (i spent 2 years there). If you want blue lagoon, choose Moorea or other Polynesian islands instead but it is quite boring after a while despite being fantastic places. Life is very expensive in those places. Hope you speak french otherwise life might be a bit difficult for you there.

New Zealand: Yes! I live there now but it depends on what you are looking for. Your climate expectations might be reached
in the upper part of the North Island, but a bach on the beech is very expensive there too. Unlimited ultra fast internet available in most towns.

I can not speak for the other places.

Bonne chance, Dominique
