US made cameras are a rare thing these days. Aside from Kodak, Graflex and Argus can the casual name a US camera company? And the good Kodak cameras weren't necessarily made in USA.

Graflex and Argus were hardly known abroad, if at all. Polaroid was!

Italy is a little unusual in that the Italian army were very keen on use of sub miniature cameras in reconnaissance which aided in development of Gami cameras. However usa was biggest market for subminiature cameras after war so there was big export market. At same time 35mm euro cameras enjoyed popularity in usa - alpa was noted for its macro and scientific uses, whilst there was still a lot of competition between euro rangefinders eg casca, leica, contax, gamma, alpa hybrids etc so everything was still to play for until Japan steamrollered euro camera industry in usa (and everywhere else). But for a brief moment in time Italy made some of world's finest cameras.

Hello fellows,

a couple days ago I received a small, nice, well built film camera, meet the lovely Ferrania Condor I
Molto bello Alfredo. Mi piace molto. Sono "Ferrania backer" e aspetto nuove pellicole. Bianco nero o diapositiva. Speriamo che una volta possiamo comprare Ferrania pellicole. Ferrania bianco nero pellicola era la mia prima pellicola in anno 1965.

Buon estate per te!

A bit of editing here - it isn't necessary to copy the entire contents of the very long original post in the thread in order to respond to it.
