I recently bought a FED Stereo M camera, which appeared to work when I inspected it superficially ... importantly, the shutters "clicked".

But now on getting it back home, the shutter still "clicks" but it does not open! (Observed with the back off, and just to double-check I took a few frames on the (A)uto setting, all blank.). I'm using a new SR44 battery, which is what's recommended, but there is a sticker on the bottom next to the battery cover, presumably put there by the last owner, that says "PX625". This is the battery used by the FED Stereo (no "M"), and is 1.35v (can be purchased as a $10 Wein Cell or a $40 adaptor can be used with 1.5v batteries, but I do not have one to hand).

Does anyone have any idea how I can get this working? I should add the shutter does not open on any setting with or without a battery. The camera had a roll of film in it, implying that when last used it probably worked. It came with no battery installed.

It's in nice mechanical and cosmetic condition (apart from the non-functioning shutter!), so it would be a pity to throw it away.
