Hi,
So I've got FED 50 camera. As you can see threre is hot shoe clip I assume? Correct me if I'm wrong. I have National PE-205 flash light. How to use flash in this model because I am confused right now.

FED 50 manual aperture settings are used with flash, and automatically set shutter to the correct 1/30th second speed for use with flash.

On the side of your flash is a table of numbers: If you have the camera loaded with ASA/ISO 80 film, and your subject is 3.5 meters away, then the table indicates that the correct aperture for your lens is f/5.6. Does that make sense? It requires a little bit of work on your part.

I have tried with apperture setting but with no resoults. According to table on flash lamp, when I am using film ISO 100 I should set aperture to 8, but flash does not work.

Turn on the flash: After a few seconds, does the "ready" light (next to power switch) glow as it's supposed to? If not, the flash may be faulty. This is a very common problem for older electronic flash units.

FED 50 manual aperture settings are used with flash, and automatically set shutter to the correct 1/30th second speed for use with flash.

Well, with such shutter that maybe the correct shutter speed for incandescant (bulb) fllashes at X-synchronisation, but not for electronic flashes which can be used at any shuter speed at leaf shutters.

However manufacturers of some of such compact cameras made a compromise: They got the shutter a X-synchronisation and in addition automatically set at 1/30, by a mechanical contact within the hot shoe, the moment a flash is applied. By this enabling the use of both, bulb and electronic flashes without hassle.
