Hello,

I am searching for SLRs with the capability to perform a Flash exposure lock. That goes usually under the abbreviation of FE or FV lock.

So far I have found only Nikon F6 and Canon EOS 30 and it's derivates.

Anybody here knows some other ones?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you Ricardo.

It is odd I checked their manuals and they nowhere mention FEL.

I find it highly important for my work, often using a speedlight. No autimatic system gives you consistent exposures.

Hmm, I see there is the button, so I guess it is scarcely cover in the manual.

By saying you never needed it, does that mean you never even toyed with it? I am namely curious if FEL works only with add-on speed light or with the built-in as well.

Do you have an idea where to find this out before I buy a camera like that?

Thank you for your help, and thanx for backing up film

FE lock was supposed to be available with E-TTL and the EX series.
I am talking about what Canon had 15 years ago.
As I used more often an EOS-1N with an older 540EZ flash, that flash with the EOS-3 didn't allow FEL.
That is as far as I remember.
The manual for the EOS-3 might be of help in that regard.
The EOS-50 is a good camera and can be had cheaply.
I didn't know it had FEL until I saw the specs a few hours ago.
I had the idea on the back of my mind that the 50 had introduced E-TTL which was the successor to A-TTL.
With the 50 FEL is only with an external flash.

Thank you for all the info! Yes, the EOS 50 is rather cheap. I wonder if there is any reall benefit buying one from the 30 series or 3 over it ...

But as you say, apparenly FEL never works with built in flash.
